Group Description
The group of three are currently year three students from Singapore Polytechnic studying the diploma in Environmental Management and Water Technology.  Our course made us realise the water issues happening around the world and therefore we hope to provide a solution to these problems. Participating in this competition will allow us to gain a deeper understanding of water issues and solutions as well as meeting and exchanges ideas with people with the same interest.  Throughout the competition we will also be taking advice from our lecturer, Dr. Handojo.

Project Description
Rainwater harvesting for potable use is gaining more attention due to water scarcity. Rainwater appears to be clean, no smell and taste. However rainwater from rooftop contains various toxic dissolved metal ions. The conventional treatment using sand filtration system cannot remove metal ions. This project will propose an alternative solution which incorporates coffee residue sand mixed filtration. The products come with bottle and simple column and it will show some lab analysis showing the capability in removing copper ions. It shows a potential to offer clean water suitable for emergency situation or countries like ours that has minimum water resources.
